It first started in 1907 May 7 in which coin drop was first tested out.
The timeline is as follows
B-boy PREhistory (past–1973)
The Golden Age of b-boying (1973–1980)
Media Spread/Mainstream
Exploitation era (1981–Mid 1985)
The Winter Season of b-boying
(Mid 1985–1990)
The Stirring Warmup from Winter
(1991–1994)
The Revival era (1994–2000)
Permanent Integration era
(2000–beyond+)
It looks pretty interesting that although it is such a young culture,
It has different development stages.
To me, I feel this is how newbie bboys become better.
1) Learn the technique
2) Practise it by drilling the technique
3) Mastering it fully with different directions
4) Reinvent it and modify it.
5) Play with different levels, shapes and other labanatation notation symbols and other features of dance moves.
6) Fuse it with different genres of dance
The key I feel is to always check with others if your technique and whatever you do is correct. Be willing to learn and willing to practise.
However I still have much more to master and I am very new in this.
